How is TMT Saria made?
TMT Saria, or Thermo-Mechanically Treated Saria, undergoes a specialized manufacturing process for enhanced strength and durability. It begins with high-quality steel billets heated to a precise temperature in a reheating furnace. These hot billets are then passed through a series of rolling mills where they are gradually shaped into desired sizes and lengths.
The crucial step in TMT Saria production is the quenching process. As the hot bars exit the final rolling mill, they are rapidly cooled by a high-pressure water spray system. This rapid quenching causes the surface layer of the bars to cool quickly, while the core remains hot. Subsequently, the bars are subjected to controlled cooling on a cooling bed, allowing the core to slowly cool down.
Finally, the bars undergo tempering, where they are heated to a specific temperature and allowed to cool naturally. This unique combination of rapid quenching and controlled tempering imparts superior strength, flexibility, and corrosion resistance to TMT Saria, making it ideal for construction applications.
